Help Keep 82-Year-Old Prudence's Shelter Open Before the Council Closes Her Doors for Good.
Prudence is 82. For 18 years she's run Saving The Pups out of her own pocket, taking in every dog nobody else would, the old ones, the sick ones, the ones every other shelter had already given up on.
She's never taken a single wage. She feeds every dog before she feeds herself. She sleeps on the floor so they get the beds.
This year the council changed the rules. Her land is no longer permitted for the number of dogs she cares for, and the new licence they now demand would cost tens of thousands she will never have. They know a one-woman shelter scraping by can't pay it. They are using it to shut her down anyway.
Rather than help her, the council has issued a closure order, and the deadline is now days away. When it runs out, every dog is seized, and the ones they decide are "too old or too sick to rehome" don't come back.
That's why we started this petition. We're demanding the council grant Prudence an exemption and keep her doors open, instead of shutting down the only place that ever took these dogs in. Every signature is proof people won't let them do it without a fight.
It takes 10 seconds, and for these dogs it's the difference between a warm bed tonight and nowhere left to go.
