The Council Is Shutting Us Down. Please Help Us Keep the Doors Open.
Choose your support ❤
The council has ordered us to close. After 18 years they say we keep more dogs than the new rules allow and can't afford the licence they now demand, so they are shutting us down, and the deadline is only days away.
Benny had his last full meal four days ago. He is one of 12 dogs still here. My mum, Prudence, is 82 years old and has spent over 18 years rescuing dogs out of her own pocket, the food, the medicine, the vet bills, the bedding. Losing this place means losing every one of them.
100% of what you give here goes straight to the dogs, and helps us keep the doors open. ❤
How it started
The Woman Who Started Saving The Pups
Eighteen years ago, Prudence found a starving dog tied to a fence outside her home. She took her in, fed her, and stayed up through the night until she was strong enough to stand. She had no idea that one dog would become her life's work.
That one rescue grew into Saving The Pups. Prudence built it herself, out of her own pocket, one hungry dog at a time, and in over eighteen years she has never taken a single paycheck from it. Every dollar has always gone to the dogs.
She is 82 now, and she still wakes before sunrise to feed every dog in her care. She says she will keep going as long as her legs let her. Your support is what lets her keep that promise.
The Dogs at the Shelter Right Now
Meet Gator — Senior
Chihuahua and Terrier mix, found under a bridge on his last legs. Age has clouded Gator's eyes, so he meets the world by sound, tilting his big ears toward any kind voice. He sat perfectly still when rescuers came, unable to see them, just hoping the hands were gentle. Your support gives this old boy senior care, soft bedding, and a safe place to live out his golden years.
Meet Mila — 1 Year Old
Lab mix, found abandoned in an alleyway. Mila was curled by a dumpster, shaking from cold and hunger, her ribs showing and bruises along her back. She never barked or ran, she just looked up hoping for help, and she still wags softly when spoken to. Your support gives Mila food, warmth, and a safe home for the first time.
Meet Bruce — 8 Years Old
Great Dane, surrendered after years of neglect. His family moved and left him in the yard, and neighbours say he waited at the gate every day. By the time he was found he was thin, dehydrated, and sore from sleeping rough, yet he is gentle and calm, leaning in for any kindness. Your support gives Bruce medical care, proper food, and the home he always deserved.
Meet Shadow — 6 Months Old
Brindle Pit mix, found trembling behind a supermarket bin. Shadow is just a baby, left in the cold with raw paws and far too little weight on him. He did not growl, he only stared up bracing to be hurt again. He is safe now, still learning that hands can be kind. Your support gives Shadow food, warmth, and the stability he has never had.
Meet Pongo — 2 Years Old
Dalmatian, found abandoned at a bus stop. Pongo waited on a cold bench for hours for someone who never came back. He is underweight with sores from the concrete and flinches at sudden movement, but when lifted he buried his face in the rescuer's arms. Your support gives Pongo food, vet care, and the time he needs to trust again.
Meet Peaches — 2 Years Old
Pitbull mix, found starved and barely holding on. Peaches was against a wall, too weak to stand, so thin that rescuers think she went weeks without food. Even then she guarded the one thing she had, a small stuffed toy. Your support could be the difference between Peaches recovering and slipping away.
Meet Snow — 4 Years Old
American Pitbull mix, abandoned after years of being bred. Snow was found exhausted and underweight, her ears torn and her body worn from litter after litter. She lowered her head as if expecting more pain, but she leans in slowly when someone sits with her. Your support gives Snow treatment, nourishment, and a calm place to finally heal.
Meet Willow — 1 Year Old
Shepherd mix, taken from a neglect case. Willow spent most of her life shut in a laundry room, rarely let out, and arrived too frightened to lift her head. The worn fur on her elbows tells the story of hard floors and no care. When a volunteer sat beside her, she leaned in to ask if it was finally safe. Your support gives Willow care, rehabilitation, and a real chance.
Meet Milo & Marnie — 1 Year Old
Miniature Pinscher mixes, found huddled under an abandoned house. These bonded twins have never spent a day apart. Left with no food or water, they pressed together so tightly they seemed to vanish, and Milo wrapped himself around Marnie to shield her from every approach. Your support keeps them together, fed, and safe while they learn the world can be kind.
Meet Pickle — 2 Years Old
Staffordshire mix, surrendered after years of neglect. Pickle came in with a runny nose, cracked skin, and a look of pure confusion, never having known a soft bed or a steady meal. The moment someone kneels beside him, he leans in for affection. Your support gives Pickle medicine, food, and people who will not give up on him.
Meet Benny — 5 Years Old
Terrier mix, found shivering behind a factory. Benny was curled on a discarded blanket, matted and covered in fleas, and only stared, unsure if he would be hurt again. Once he sees you are kind, he pushes his head into your hand like he is desperate to finally be loved. Your support gives Benny grooming, medical care, and the second chance he deserves.
Meet Scruffy — 4 Years Old
Pit mix, found abandoned in a vacant lot. Scruffy survived alone for weeks after his owners moved away, and by the time he was found he was malnourished, dehydrated, and too weak to stand. He looked up with tired eyes, as if already forgotten. Your support helps Scruffy rebuild his strength and learn that he deserves love.
$25 — A Week of Meals
Keeps a rescue dog fed for about a week. A small gift, but to a hungry dog tonight it means everything.
$50 — Food and a Warm Bed
A couple of weeks of food plus a warm, dry bed for a dog who has had neither. Comfort while they find their feet.
$100 — A Month of Care
Around a full month of meals and a vet check for one dog. Real stability, and a body strong enough to start healing. The level most supporters choose.
$250 — Emergency Vet Care
Helps cover emergency vet care for a dog who arrived sick or hurt. Often the line between a dog making it and not.
$500 — A Full Rescue
Goes toward a full rescue: vet treatment, recovery, and transport for a dog in serious trouble, and helps keep the doors open for the rest.
May God bless you for your kindness and compassion for these souls. ❤
