How the winning spot is decided — and why it is fair for everyone
Spot the Bone is scored the same proven way for every single player. When the game closes, an independent panel of judges looks at the exact same photo and marks where they believe the centre of the bone is. The average of their marks becomes the one official winning spot, and the entry closest to it wins.Here is the fair part: nobody — not even our team — knows that spot while the game is open, and the whole judging is recorded. So everyone is measured against the same fixed point, under the same rules, with the same shot at it. It comes down to pure skill — the better you read the dogs' eyes and body language, the closer your guess.
Open to entrants 18 and over. Every entry is a donation that goes straight to Saving The Pups' shelter dogs.
How it works

- Winners are drawn every 2 weeks — the guess closest to our judges' marked spot wins the grand prize.

1. Sponsor

2. Eligibility
Open to legal residents of the United States aged 18 or over at the time of entry. Employees of the Sponsor and their immediate household are not eligible. Void where prohibited by law.
3. Competition period
Spot the Bone runs in two-week rounds. Each round runs for 14 days and closes at 11:59 PM ET on announcement day, when the next round begins immediately.
4. How to enter
Choose a care package on this page. Each package is a donation to Saving The Pups and unlocks a set number of entries (for example, $25 = 5 entries). For each entry, place a guess on the photo marking where you believe the centre of the hidden bone is. You may hold up to 200 entries per round.
Free entry option: No donation is necessary to enter. To enter for free, hand-write a postcard with your full name, email address, phone number and your guess (the X and Y position) and mail it to us at the address shown in this website's footer. Limit one free entry per postcard. Free entries are judged exactly the same as paid entries.
5. How the winner is decided
At the close of each round, an independent panel reviews the photo and marks the spot they judge to be the centre of the bone. The average of the panel's marks is the official winning spot, and the entry closest to it wins. All judging is recorded.
6. Prize
One grand prize of $20,000 USD is awarded every two weeks. The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for an alternative. The winner is solely responsible for any applicable taxes.
7. Winner selection & notification
The winner is selected every two weeks and contacted directly by email and by phone using the details they provided, normally within 3 days of the round closing, and announced to the Saving The Pups community. If the winner cannot be reached within 14 days, the next-closest entry may be selected.
8. Your details
By entering you agree that we may contact you about the competition and, if you win, announce your first name and city/state.
9. General
The Sponsor's decisions on all matters are final. The Sponsor may amend these rules, or suspend or cancel the competition, if it cannot be run as planned. This competition is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Meta, Facebook or Instagram.
